2005 - MATCH RULES OF THE COMPETITION


 


 1. ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS


    - Only 7 players from the list of 10 players
submitted prior to the Tournament are allowed per team.


    - These names must be declared to the ground
coordinator prior to each game.


    - Submission of an unlisted player will
result in automatic disqualification from the Tournament.


    - Any dispute on the day as to the eligibility
of a player or players, if found to be unresolved prior


      to a match being started, the ground coordinator
after informing and confirming with the


      Chairman of Cricket, can ask the player
or players to be withdrawn from the game and if no further


      confirmation
is forthcoming, from the tournament.


    - When submitting the list of 10 players,
please ensure that the players are BONA FIDE OLD BOYS OF


      THE COLLEGE. Any BREACH of this rule will
result in automatic disqualification of your COLLEGE.


 


 2. Round 1 - 5 overs per each side


 


        Main Tournament, Round 2  - 5 overs per each side


        Main Tournament, Round 3  - 5 overs per each side


        MAIN TOURNAMENT, FINAL - 6 overs per
each side


 


        Plate Tournament - 4 overs per each
side


        PLATE FINAL        - 5 overs per each side


 


 3. All the players must wear proper cricket whites and standard
protective gear (their own or provided by their own OBA).


 


 4. Each bowler's run up shall be limited
to 10 yards.


 


 5. Two runs will be awarded for a WIDE BALL and an
extra ball would be required to be bowled.


 


 6. One run will be awarded for a NO
BALL
and an extra ball be bowled plus any runs scored.
Underarm bowling is a no ball.


 


 7. In the event of an injury to a bowler
during bowling the captain can nominate a player to complete the over.


 


 8. All teams will be required to report
to their nominated ground at least 15 minutes before the start of the game.


 


 9. Any disputes before the start
of the game should be reported to the ground coordinator whose decision is final.


     Any dispute during the game will be dealt
by the umpires along with the ground coordinator whose decision is final.


     Any dispute after the game will be reported
to the chairman of the cricket sub-committee whose decision is final.


 


10.  In the event of rain interruptions to play reduced over basis
shall be agreed by all teams. Continuous rain will be subject to


       Umpires, Ground Staff and Match Coordinator's
decision. The final decision will rest with the Cricket Committee.


 


11. The Main Tournament Finalists will
be based on Run Rate on Round 3 matches.


       The Plate Tournament Finalists will be
based on Run Rate of their 1st round of matches.


 


      Run Rate - Runs scored from the bat against
the overs used.


         - Tie, the least number of wickets
and if that is the same the number of runs scored off the bat, if that is the
same, one


            over knockout, a nominated player
bowling at the stumps, the most wickets the winner, if that is the same Golden 


            Wicket rule applies.


         - If a team is bowled out before the
allocated overs, run rate will be calculated on the full quota of overs.


         - Runs scored off a NO BALL will be
counted when calculating the run rate.


 


12. Each participating OBA MUST
provide a scorer for their respective matches before the play commences.
